I have not updated in awhile so here goes.
Last Sunday we had Lucas at the doctors because he was sneezing and coughing and the doctor said he had a cold. We just wanted to make sure it wasnt anything else. Monday i took them to get their RSV shots. Tuesday Lucas was coughing alot more, turning bright red and crying after he got done coughing, wheezing and having a hard time breathing so we took him to the doctors around 4ish and they said he had bronchitis. So they gave us a breathing treatment machine to give him treatments. We went home and by 7 he was having an even harder time breathing and you could really see his ribs now. So we took him to the ER and they did a chest x-ray and did the RSV test on him and the chest xray showed that he had fluid in his lungs and the RSV test came back positive. They said he looked pretty good considering he had RSV and sent him home. It really surprised me that they sent him home because it is so contagious for little babies especially preemies. So we had an appt Wed morning for a follow up and they admitted him to the hospital. He was on oxygen, had iv's, received breathing treatments every 2 hours and hooked back up to the heart monitors. He came home on Friday. We had to continue the treatments every 4 hours.
I took Lucas to the doctors on Monday for a checkup from his hospital stay and she said that his lungs sound alot better. He is not coughing as much thank goodness. We still have to do the breathing treatments but only 2-3 times a day now instead of every 4 hours like we were doing. He has been spitting up alot lately and she said that is due to him bringing up all the crap from his lungs and said it will continue for a little while yet She said that she will continue with his RSV shots only because she wants them to have them next year as well and if he does not receive the rest she is afraid the insurance company will deny him next year. He weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces on Monday. He is getting hefty.Last Sunday we had Lucas at the doctors because he was sneezing and coughing and the doctor said he had a cold. Rachael is doing good and so far has not gotten the RSV thank goodness. I am surprised because Dave and I have been sick too with colds. Lucas shared with us. She has graduated to newborn diapers now and is wearing newborn clothes but they are big on her. Some of her preemie pants still fit her but the onsies do not. She slept all night last night, hopefully this will continue and maybe just maybe it wear off on Lucas..lol.. Probably not though because he likes his food every 4 hours!

So glad that Lucas was able to get admitted. From the sounds of it he needed to be. I hope that he is doing better.
